  • Smoking: Smoking is only permitted within an enclosed vehicle or building.
  • Target Shooting: Target shooting is prohibited.
  • Internal Combustion Engines: Operating internal combustion engines is restricted.
  • Chainsaws: Chainsaw use is prohibited between 9 AM and 8 PM.
  • Welding and Open Flames: Welding, operating acetylene torches, or other devices with open flames is prohibited.
  • Explosives: Using explosives is prohibited.

Permitted Activities:

  • Pressurized Liquid or Gas Stoves: Stoves that use pressurized liquid or gas fuels and have on/off switches are permitted, but only in areas cleared of flammable materials within 3 feet of the device.

Important Notes:

  • These restrictions are in place due to the increased risk of wildfires caused by drought conditions.
  • Violating these restrictions can result in fines, imprisonment, or both.
  • It's recommended to check with the Coronado National Forest or the Santa Cruz County Fire Department for the most up-to-date information on fire restrictions.
